Are you interested in serving as a Room Parent this year? It is a great way to be involved at school and get to know other parents and students from your child’s class.

How are Room Parents chosen?

  • Parents that have never been a room parent are given priority.

  • We take into consideration if the parent has been a room parent before, and for which child (if you have more than one in the school).

  • If there are more than two parents in a class that wish to be a room parent, the class parent will be chosen by a random draw after volunteers are prioritized based on above criteria.


Responsibilities of a Room Parent

  • Attend the mandatory Room Parent meeting on September 28 at 9:30 in the APR

  • Meet with their teacher in the beginning of the year to discuss parties, school trips, and any other responsibilities for the class.

  • Coordinate and plan for the class parties and end of year picnic.

  • Send out emails regarding class parties, trips, and other school related functions.

  • Collect money for the class to be used for parties and teachers' gifts.



  • If there is a student with a food allergy, those parents must be notified and approve of all food served at class parties.

  • Volunteering as a class parent does not automatically allow you to attend every party and/or class trip. Your teacher will determine if she needs a class parent at the parties and other functions.
